Jan Willem Stas started the course that would eventually become the MA TypeMedia. Around 1996. Jan Willem was convinced that all the typographic history of the KABK and the ideas of Gerrit Noordzij needed a place in the school. It was thanks to his care and dedication that the course took shape. This was before there were any other MA courses at the KABK and many things had to be improvised and he was a master in this. He fought for space and budget and recognition. 1/2
