Signal Desktop is corrupting its database in some cases, due to an official update.
I wasn't hit by this (yet? thankfully) but my partner had the botched version installed on her desktop, which "upgraded" her database, rendering everything inaccessible.
The latest version "fixes" the issue, apparently, so hopefully most people won't see this and have to re-link (losing all their chats, etc.)
