One #math thing that has always bothered me is the question what is supposed to be profound or insightful about Hilbert's Hotel?
I've seen countless descriptions of that thought experiment, but none really gets into any detail on what it is supposed to show. What did Hilbert try to accomplish with the hypothetical example of moving infinitely many people around in infinitely many hotel rooms?
What's the whole point?
