both hashbow and reis (npub1837…cgnm)'s method look simple enough and seem to produce a single color that is better than taking the first 6 hex of the pubkey
I like how hashbow lets you control the saturation and lightness though. I'm not sure how reis (npub1837…cgnm) 's method handles that (but it says it supports light and dark?)
Either way I think this should be a NIP and simple enough for any client to implement without needing a library
