Good books are always useful (I still recommend Practical Common Lisp), but let's not kid ourselves, this is 2025: people new to programming do not start by buying a book.

The problems of the CL ecosystem are well known so I won't rehash them. If you want more CL in the world, go use it and talk about what you've built as publicly as possible.

HN running on SBCL is the latest example I remember, and it's a good one.
