Sadly, your argument can also be applied to books. While we're in a much better place when it comes to the amount of accessible books we can obtain there are still exceptions. There are a lot of books that went out of print by the time Kindle came on the scene. Those books are not available on BARD, Bookshare or Learning Ally. Used copies might be obtainable in print but there aren't always legal channels for obtaining them in an accessible, electronic format. You could buy a used print copy and scan them but that will take a lot of time and the author and publisher wouldn't receive anything for your efforts. This forces blind readers to make a choice. Assuming that we can't or don't want to take the time to scan the book do we choose to not read the book or do we choose to obtain it from questionably legal sources? Please understand that I'm not talking about books which are available through legal channels. I'm totally against pirating material that can be purchased. I'm talking about books where purchasing them in an accessible format is not an option.
