That's the conventional wisdom anyway. I'm not 100% convinced it's wrong. But r0ml's argument keeps me up at night: dependencies are tech debt, like literally, they are technical decisions that save time/money now but that charge interest. This doesn't make them automatically wrong, but adds the other side to the coin.
