my sweetmeat winter squash got vine borers I think - whole vine collapsed, but I just try to grow only one variety each of c. maxima/pepo/moschata in a given seaston. Tbh I wouldn't have known zucchini are pepo and probably would have just assumed it's fine if I was growing pumpkins or pattypans.
