Today, whole taking a shower, I wonder why drain water heat recovery isn't more common. For places like California where natural gas heating is common, it's a good way to reduce your burning of fossil fuels. Not sure how much of an impact it'll make on the newer heat pump hot water heaters.
Seems like an easy thing to mandate on homes, especially larger homes (>2k sq ft).
