Ah, I meant using GNU/Linux as personal OS on your PC/Laptop. My point was that FOSS absolutists back then failed to think about the common user/talked down to them. It wasn’t until apple did OS X that Unix-y systems became available in a reliable way for all mainstream users. I worry that mastodon/fedi in its current state is following a similar behavior pattern. We gotta be mindful of that.
