One of the most telling things in the COSA hearings the other day was congress complaining to FB, etc that pressure from their lobbyists prevented protection bills from being passed.
Um… lobbyists don’t vote on bills. Lobbyists blackmail office holders by threatening to withhold donations, or if local, move out of state and create job loss.
What congress really said was ‘we really want your money so we created our own problem by not passing legislation so we would still get money’
