Last night on my social zoom the most conservative of us (he complains about his socialist students) wanted to talk about how workers have "priced themselves out of the market" as an explanation for mass corporate layoffs and investment in automation.
I asked him "why frame it that way instead of asking why corporations haven't priced THEMselves out of the labor market with their unrealistic profit expectations?"
My other friend who is the secretary of her union local beamed at me SO HARD.
