One of the less obvious things about making an image like this is deciding where the focus should be and how much DoF is wanted. Here, I shot at f/8 and focused on the nearby train (using the rail as a guide). That made the building in the background slightly soft (which it would be due to the blur anyway). If I had it to do over, I'd probably use a view camera, tilt the focal plane to align with the track and use a wider aperture for more of a contrast between the tracks and background.
