British Railways Cab Secure Radio (a modified Stornophone radio scheme) was very much like this, and even the engineers at BBC Crowsley Park said it was particularly daft to use the top end of Band II (105-108 MHz) for the base station frequencies rather than Band II VHF High (150-170 MHz) like everywhere else in Europe did (the UK had been told in 1979 to stop polluting the broadcast band but delayed doing anything about it for decades as a cost cutting measure)
