It’s too bad that Pew did not survey Indonesia or maybe they purposely avoided the country for this report because they’ll likely find that there’s an incredible amount of vatniks in this country, especially in the academic world, most likely even more so in proportion than Malaysia.
At the height of the Russian invasion, pro Russian opinions dominated Indonesian campuses, TV, media, and social media.
It would have been useful to have some actual measurement of the pro Russian sentiment in this country, for once.
The people idolize strong and decisive anti American leaders, or at least ones who appear as such. It’s why they also idolize Türkiye’s Erdogan and willing to look past his “problems”.
