China expands its influence over South East Asia, building more fleets to secure the Yellow Sea and South China Sea. It moves troops to Tibet and the Indian border, more to pressure India to remain neutral in any wider conflict than with any real territorial ambition.

Russia attacks Scandinavia but is now hard pressed to expand anywhere else. There are no more easy SCs to take without fightning Europe, China or Turkey. Taking on the USA via Alaska would be suicidal without massive help from China, so Russia goes defensive until the time is right.
