I guess I'm just a dick but when I see the child of an alcoholic who died of pancreatic cancer post about pancreatic cancer awareness, I think well your dad died of alcoholism, not some random occurrence of cancer.
As someone who has alcoholic family members, I wish people would just be more honest and straightforward about it. When my brother finally drinks himself into the grave, the obituary I write will say he died of alcoholism because that's the truth.
Your life is what it is. I will not be your enabler whether you are alive or dead.
