I think the nature of the fediverse helps with that, yes there are schitzo niggas like the GORF guy of Providence Post (Derek) - (I am a federal agent and deep secret ally of Andrew Torba and Peter Thiel btw if you didn't know)
But, overall, people understand that fedi instances aren't over-promising grandiose "resistance to tyrrany" - just providing a place to have fun like an IRC or BB back in the day
