I dunno. We don't seem to have much of an issue meeting the monthly operating costs here. When you provide a product in an already saturated market (social media or in this case live streaming), you have to set your service apart from others and explain why your service is valuable. For us, it's a sense of community and belonging. People are happy here, and they trust me to do what's best for our community.
Yes, many people are too afraid to financially support the services they use. It's a mental block - and for good reason. The powers that be have done a great job kneecapping any dissident friendly platform from even getting off the ground by convincing everyone that the guy on the other side of the screen is a bad actor or federal agent or this or that. It's sad. I wish this wasn't the case, but it is. So we have to find a way to change it.
I just don't think this is the best way to go about it.
