Some excellent points, particularly about the misapplication (misappropriation?) of Stoic philosophy.
The original idea behind Stoicism (if I understand it correctly and which the article states) involves accepting and understanding emotions, learning to deal with them instead of walling them off.
The goal is striving for the 4 pillars of Stoicism: wisdom, courage, temperance, and justice.
Not achieving them but working toward them.
