We have made the decision that when we ‘retire’ in a year or two it will be to Wellington, not my beloved Dunedin. Family reasons - Lisa’s family, my shiny new sister and niece who I simply cannot see enough of.
We’ve started exploring the Wellington house market. And it is sad to see the number of homes there selling way below their CV, their purchase price etc - as public service job losses (and flow-on job losses) really bite. Dunedin prices seem to avoid the boom and bust cycle.
