Dear #eff and #privacy fediverse, I am looking for an analysis of what domestic (US) legal processes and can lead to a legal request to ProtonMail, which would be recognized by Swiss law and thus force the disclosure of metadata, or IP logging.
Specifically, I'm working with a threat model of local, state, and federal law enforcement harassment of US activist organizations, and trying to determine the extent to which department, states AG, and state/federal court cooperation would be needed to produce these requests.
In short, looking for a legal "threat model" and the mitigations using a Swiss org like ProtonMail provides.
