I'm working my way through these posts...
but what's the point of social media? is there one?
I get friends/family staying updated on their lives. I guess that should be mostly private. same with groups dedicated to some interest. something like discord makes sense imo.
but the news and culture thing that made Twitter famous is not private. it's a public forum. I think that's what fedi and bluesky are mostly for.
obviously there's overlap but we should talk about what we expect more.
