still an anti-pattern avoid where we can, when reasonable alternarives avail. precisely because GUIs are also notoriosly riddled with terrible user-hostile quirks, oftentimes "laugh out loud bad" ones
as a maker even if I know a GUI may be helpful for some of my endusers I always build the guts under a CLI/API first and encourage others to use it instead
