GUIs are a gateway into an app for those with less technical knowledge or lacking knowledge of a specific app.
After 3 decades of IT, I can "sight read" (borrowed music term) the UI much quicker than most.
I like CLI for some things, but let's not toss the GUI quite yet. ;)
