This "Musk is just trying to destroy #Twitter!" narrative gets around a lot, but if this was the case, couldn't he just shut it down without the song and dance...?
The only credible argument I can see against this is that by slowly eroding it, people gather somewhere else, as you have a lot of people wanting to stay for various reasons.
But if Twitter disappeared tomorrow, people wouldn't gather somewhere else primarily, it takes a long time for social networks to cement themselves.
