I second that request for better media support in Damus but I am still thinking about what the actual features need to be:
1. Gallery View: The feed and a user's profile should be visible in a condensed "media only" view similar to the instagram posts grid. Iris (npub1wnw…95l8) already does this on the web. The issue with a grid like this is, since all aspect ratios are allowed in nostr, most of the images need to be cropped strongly to get everything in the grid.
2. Full screen navigation: If you want to browse through images/videos only it would be great to do this in the full screen view (portrait + landscape). This is not only a Tiktok / Instagram stories kind of view but Telegram also does this when viewing media in fullscreen. Just swipe to get to the next photo/video.
