But one thing I love about mac is the culturally-accepted modifier key is Cmd which is not used by any terminal emulator at all and is right under the thumb. Most keyboard shortcuts are very easy to press. I can see why people map caps lock to Ctrl on linux, because I'm going through a lot of contortions.
Also, I think the hardware is generally working well - it's the software that's hard to adjust to :)
