I wondered today, while (as usual) failing to manage my Fediverse feed, whether the kind of simple customization Usenet had back in the day could help with the faster-moving world of Mastodon. Specifically, I'm talking about how we used "killfiles" for both opt-out and opt-in. I guess it was sort of like procmail but for newsgroups not email. More thoughts than fit in this message:
