I have somewhat marveled at the apparent scarcity of sex workers on Nostr so far. Wasn't sure if that's a product of something at the relay level or what. I do assume there will be a bit of segmentation that may arise when they do finally show up as relay operators may not be terribly comfortable hosting adult content that they have no verification of the legality of in much the same way people are particularly cautious running Tor exit nodes (but perhaps more worrisome due to the hosting...and can you blame them?). But I do have to assume that some with some brass cojones (or operating solely over Tor or other anonymization channels) will spring up, and likely operate without necessarily being linked into the main mesh of relays.
Though I suppose there's another alternative, which of course is linking to the hosted content elsewhere and using CW's so as to not bother the relay operators because they're not, at the end of the day, actually hosting anything. Truth be told I don't understand enough about how actual media files work with the Nostr protocol to begin with, because it does seem like media, at least above a certain size, gets treated a bit differently than text notes.
