I'm reminded of this every time I watch older movies, and wonder how a premodern person would react to modern movies. Even putting tropes aside and looking purely from a composition standpoint, you're watching a series of 8 second jump cuts spliced together. We've departed so far from how you actually experience reality that it would be nauseating to anyone not already accustomed to it.
