Unless they have a very good reason to, staff aren't going to mark down on a journal when people come in and leave to the second, every single time.
Also, if the glowers wanted that information, they'd physically have to go and collect that journal, which is a lot of work and generally won't be done unless there's a good reason to do so.
With botnetted RFID tags, your name and other personal information is assigned to an ID and stored on some remote server (sure some systems may just store it locally, but such computers always run proprietary software) and every time you tap that tag, most likely that information is being sent directly to the glowers.
Sure there's a whole bunch of different and worse spying, but it's called death by a thousand cuts for a reason.
