Personally, I prefer when companies develop their desktop web apps in parallel with their mobile apps, as opposed to designing their mobile apps later. It seems these products are better when they're built in parallel. Of course, this has its disadvantages because it spreads a company thinner in its development efforts. But the mobile products end up being better.
