Here is an interesting tidbit around the name of Jesus [Yeshua] whose root meaning is "to free/save/deliver";
Jeshua (Yeshua) is a shortened form of the name Joshua (Yoshua) or Jehoshua (Yehoshua)... The name Jeshua is derived from the Semitic root meaning “to free, save, or deliver” (y-sh-ʿ).
Douglas K. Wilson and Amy L. Balogh, “Jeshua, Ancient Name of,” ed. John D. Barry et al., The Lexham Bible Dictionary (Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2016).
This begs the question, who was Yeshua freeing/saving/delivering us from? 🧐
