As much as I enjoy tinkering with the OS I must admit that it's nice for the OS to just get out of my way and let me get things done. MacOS does just that. I don't think about the OS at all. I manage packages with brew and I use Magnet as my window organizer. I'm running Zsh and iterm2 and have all of the command line tools I need just like I would on a Linux machine.
