Last night I dreamed I was dating a high school sweetheart. I had just informed her parents that it was true, that I was, in fact, letting her use my homemade patch cables. They were horrified, and did not approve of me not using store bought cables. So the entire dream was me demonstrating to her parents how to safely create your own patch cables. They regularly interrupted me about my choices to do things such as not use "protection," meaning those boot covers that supposedly protect the tabs. I explained how they are expensive, make the end connector more difficult to manipulate, and often fail to protect the tab anyways. They countered with, "You sound like all the network guys she brings home."

I had an entire network cable themed allegory dream about having a sex talk with a girlfriend's parents. I dunno if I should feel more traumatized, or amused.
