The flipped buttons (physical layout is Nintendo style) are a little annoying, but if you just ignore the label and know that the A button is at the bottom position and B on the right, you'll be fine.
Steam also has a software option to "flip" them to the labelled positions, which is nice for kids who haven't gained the muscle memory of where the buttons are (or are used to the Nintendo layout).
