Gotcha, well, very much depends a number of things - The variety, how it's planted, the length of season you'll have.

I have for example a few superhots that seem like they'd produce basically an infinite number of peppers if you let them, and others where I struggle to get a half-dozen per season (which if fine when you're measuring your scoville in millions imo lol).

People often say that "peppers do well in pots" which I find to be a mixed truth. Ime peppers produce earlier in pots, but don't tend to get as big and don't ultimately produce as much. This could also be in some part a fact of my climate tho.

For season length, I am guessing, but I suspect this is really the biggest factor (resource-limitation aside). Peppers take such a long time to get up steam, but really start chucking out flowers & *starting* to set pods once they do. However, they almost all have some of the longest full-size-to-ripe-color-turn periods for any fruit I've personally grown. So, having enough time to fully ripen is (while not easy to _plan_ for) a big factor. I guess my one trick on that note is to pay close attention to the potential for frost in fall, then just chop whole plants right before it hits. You'd be amazed how many will ripen after harvest.
