Leaving the gym and there were two lads walking in, one was happy singing tunelessly to himself and the other was like me, a miserable arse hole. Misery said “you’re always singing to yourself, you.” In an accusatory tone and the happy lad said “a bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song” and his complete lack of self consciousness made what would sound like he was quoting a movie and twee AF, just sound beautiful.
