If equivalent devices use more power, then it's not worth it, no matter what nifty features they may advertise. I haven't yet seen anything that shows usage comparisons of common devices(sensors, plugs, lights, switches, etc), but they really should be leading with that. I really don't care if Apple, Google, etc is involved. In fact, that makes me care less because they're apt to putting up their walled gardens
