I simply don’t think the average Fediverse server moderates better than Bluesky or Threads.
On the contrary, the average Fediverse server has a lot of people who cosplay as progressives, and hide their bigotry with sea lioning and concern trolling.
The NIMBYs here are pretty damn racist.
why would you want to federate with instances that don't moderate against fascism, hate speech, etc., though?
