Speaking as someone who works in STEM, why the fuck can't we have an actual scientist chairing the committee for once?
Rather than a fucking eejit who thinks babies have no sex (presumably till the sorting hat tells them) and whose work experience prior to Westminster was as a trade union official in the GMB, and whose education goes no further than secondary school level.
(Not that there's anything intrinsically wrong with one's education not going beyond secondary school - I'll be surprised if my son's does, for e.g. But there are some jobs - like chairing the committee that oversees STEM policy in one's country's parliament - where a science degree should be a prerequisite).
