I did hear that line during the quali as well. Very interesting. If that's true and the ball is in Sainz' court then it becomes a question of whether (a) he's patient enough to see Audi develop into a championship winning team or (b) he's brave enough to fight Verstappen in his team and take a WDC right under his nose just before the regulations change.
I'd personally wager on the safer option. Bank in Audi and hope that they can quickly produce a championship winning car before he gets too old and decline in performance.
