I think there is still a widely held belief (amongst the white, male, privileged cadre) that sex is a woman's "fault". In the middle ages, if a woman was raped and she got pregnant as a result, then it wasn't considered a rape and of course, if she didn't get pregnant, there was no proof. These guys still live in that world, they WANT that world to exist. That no matter what they do to a woman, it was HER fault.
