I grew up on plain poverty-style cornbread: course, grainy, and hard to choke down.

In these parts, cornbread has lots more wheat flour, eggs, and sugar; it's a delight to eat and I call it "cake cornbread."

The unpleasant cornbread is KNOWN around here; they make it as an ingredient for cornbread stuffing.

Over the holidays I heard myself asking The Nymph "are you making cake cornbread or punishment cornbread?" and instantly realized I had coined a phrase I will use until I die. #CornBread
