you know, it's amazing, there's a lesson we learned 100 years or so ago:
it doesn't matter how rich you are, if you happen to wind up swimming in the North Atlantic - say, because your yacht wound up holed below the waterline by a torpedo or limpet mine - you're going to die of hypothermia before anybody can rescue you
