In 1994 Peru requested the return of five ancient objects that were offered for sale at Sotheby's. Peru believed that they were looted from the site of Sipán. US authorities returned three of the five objects to Peru and the two others were sold to private collectors and I haven't seen them since. Well until today! One of them is now in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. It was purchased by collector Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. and entered the museum collection at his death. So there you go.
