As much as I dislike Meta, I don't think instances should block Threads for all their users.
Federation enables us to connect with everyone, everywhere, on all platforms.
It enables Mastodon users to still connect to their friends who haven't joined the platform yet, while not requiring them to leave our private and open source community just for that interaction.
I have blocked Threads on my account. This was my personal decision, as it should be for all.
