And I understand this because the Wiggins sisters were given no musical training. Their father essentially locked them in a basement for years and told them to become a band—and they essentially had to figure out something. In many ways, theirs is a tragic story.
But this song also has its fans. Frank Zappa, notably, said that The Shaggs were better than the Beatles. And believe it or not, there's some cover versions of this song put out by serious musicians.
I don't think this is the best song by a long shot. But worst? No, whatever you want to say about The Shaggs, at least they put something of themselves into this song.
