The ants of Myrmecos come from many species, and there are millions of colonies (each containing from a few dozen to half a million ants) -- the ants never formed countries, nations or kingdoms. Since every ant has a colony it just seemed redundant. In elections each colony casts a single vote-- the citizenship unit is the colony, not the individual ant.
Myrmecos has only one city (Central City) and it is a wonder! -- sky trains thread their way between soaring gossamer towers towers.
